Logistics solutions

Barents NaturGass’ take responsibility for the delivery chain and make sure that LNG is always available for our customers. We let our customers focus on their core operation.

Barents NaturGass transports LNG directly from production plants or import facilities and to our customers ships or storage tanks. This minimizes the use of expensive transfers or storage terminals and ensures our customers the best available price and availability.

Our two independent logistics solutions provide additional redundancy in case of delivery problems like strikes, production issues or other scenarios.

Barents NaturGass’s iso-container solution

Transport of LNG in iso-containers from shipping terminals in Central Europe, normally Gate-terminal in Rotterdam, Zeebrugge in Belgium, Klaipeda in Lithuania or other terminals closer to the customer or with better availability. Our Central European partner Broadview Energy Solutions is one of Europes largest vendors in LNG and Natural gas. As a customer of Barents NaturGass you will take part in our high availability and price advantages ensured through our partnership.

The iso-containers are 40-45 foot containers that have an inner tank in stainless steel, an insulation layer and then an outer tank in stainless steel. The containers capacity is 16-18 tonns of LNG providing about 260.000 kWh (GCV). The LNG is pumped from the import terminal or production plant into the container and then transported directly to the customer using trucks, ships or train.

Barents NaturGass’s tanker-truck solution

Transport of LNG in vacuum-insulated semi-trailers from Hammerfest, Norway. Barents NaturGass have long term contracts with Statoil/Snøhvit Unit. The LNG is sourced directly from the LNG plant.

Barents NaturGass operates at the moment 11 vacuum-insulated semi-trailers. The trailers have a gross volume of 59m3 and can transport 22,5 tons of LNG, providing about 340.000 kWh (GCV).

The trained and certified drivers load LNG from the production plant in Hammerfest and then drives directly to the customers. We have a long-term contract with Hoyer Group Norge AS and about 25 drivers in our fleet. Hoyer owns the trucks and employ the drivers while Barents NaturGass own the semi-trailers. At arrival at our customers facilities the driver transfers the LNG to the local storage tank using the integrated pump. This operation is normally done in about two hours including preparations and closing procedures.

Cooperation with transporters

Barents NaturGass cooperates with different transporters, all are trained in handling LNG and our safety procedures. We also use different shipping agencies for sea transport depending on the destination. It is also possible to use trains for transporting LNG containers. The final delivery at the customers site is handled by our trained transporters that transfer the LNG to the local storage tank using the pump on the truck or at the local facilities.
